Stay Engaged Stay Focused
Four months ago this week I started with a new professional therapist because my last therapist was not the right one for me, I was not receiving the right help and I felt alone and dissociated, I had no life coping skills to work on and most importantly the therapist refused to alter their schedule even though I was asking for help. My personal trainer has also been a big part of my ongoing recovery. It is very important for me to continue this therapy and workout program as I slowly continue my recovery journey with PTSD, depression, anxiety, bipolar and mental illness. This journey is not something that you can put a time frame on, it could take weeks, months and even years and I have accepted that fact, and I take it one day and one week at a time, knowing that in the end whenever that may be I will be a better person. Even though I will never forget what I have been through I know that I will have the skills to cope with whatever comes along. Even with therapy and physical fitness I also know that some days are going to be better than others, but one thing I do know I am better, stronger, focused and more engaged than I was yesterday.
